Apple has introduced a range of camera features along with 5G connectivity in the iPhone 12 Pro Max but has reportedly kept the battery smaller. The battery capacity of the iPhone 12 Pro Max is revealed on the Chinese certification site TENAA and is said to house a 3,687mAh battery. On the other hand, last year’s iPhone 11 Pro Max featured a 3,969mAh battery. It’s interesting to see Apple including a smaller battery in the iPhone 12 Pro Max despite offering 5G connectivity. Reports also claim that if you use 5G with iPhone 12 series, you will end up getting at least two hours less battery life.
Apple officially never reveals the detailed spec-sheet of newly launched iPhones. Regulatory filings and tear down reports of the latest iPhones are the only way to find the real specs. Having said that the battery specs of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini have been revealed from regulatory documents that Apple fled for approval of the sale of iPhone 12, 12 Mini in Brazil.
The iPhone 12 is said to be powered by a 2,815mAh battery while the battery capacity of the iPhone 12 Mini is claimed to be 2,227. Apple claims a video playback time of up to 15 hours for the iPhone 12 Mini while it is 17 hours for the iPhone 12. In Brazil, Apple will provide 4G and sub-6GHz 5G. It is only in the US that faster mmWave support will be available.
Apple has also packed a smaller battery in the iPhone 12 when compared to the iPhone 11. The iPhone 12 comes with an OLED display along with 5G connectivity. The iPhone 11, on the other hand, has no 4G and features an LCD screen.
