CM Vijay Rupani urges sarpanches to take action in the next 15 days to make their villages coronavirus-free

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has urged sarpanches in the state to take action in the next 15 days to make their villages coronavirus-free. During a virtual meeting with village heads on Gujarat’s Foundation Day, he appealed.

Because of the coronavirus situation and the death of 18 COVID-19 patients in a hospital fire in Bharuch earlier in the day, the foundation day was kept low-key. Mr. Rupani, speaking from Gandhinagar to village heads across the state, said they should pledge to make their areas coronavirus-free by forming committees and monitoring and treating suspected patients.

“On the occasion of Gujarat Foundation Day, communicating with sarpanches of various villages through the CM Dashboard under the state-wide campaign “Maru Gaam Korona Mukta Gaam,” (my village, coronavirus-free village),” he wrote in a tweet.

Mr. Rupani was accompanied by Governor Acharya Devvrat and other senior officials as he interacted with thousands of village heads through the CM Dashboard, the state’s administrative command and control system. A thorough presentation on the pandemic situation in Gujarat and the measures being taken to combat it was given. The Chief Minister and Governor expressed their condolences for the COVID-19 patients who died in the Bharuch hospital fire.

“The (COVID-19 pandemic) situation is critical and alarming. A pandemic like this only happens once every century.

There isn’t a single state in the country that hasn’t been affected, and there isn’t a single district in Gujarat that hasn’t The triple T strategy – maximum testing, maximum tracing, and maximum care – is being used to combat the pandemic “In his speech, Mr. Rupani said.

The government is working with the public to get the situation under control, he said, urging sarpanches to form village committees to track down COVID-19 patients and provide adequate, timely care so that the number of cases does not arise.

“Let us commit to not allowing the number of cases to rise and to being coronavirus-free. Form 10-person committees in each of Gujarat’s 14,000-gram panchayats to eradicate the coronavirus in 15 days “he said

The chief minister also urged village chiefs to ensure that citizens are vaccinated as soon as possible. The governor also urged sarpanches to put these recommendations into action, instructing them to hold meetings, form committees, and create isolation centers in village community halls and schools.

“In cities, impose a strict curfew, allowing no outsiders to enter. Run a public awareness campaign urging people with coughs, fevers, or other symptoms to visit isolation centers set up inside villages “He inquired of the village chiefs.

On this day in 1960, Gujarat was separated from Bombay State.
