NEW DELHI: Farmer union leaders on Tuesday invited agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar to their protest site and provided to serve him ‘jalebi’ and ‘pakoda’ together with tea at their langar (community kitchen) after they have been provided tea by the minister throughout a marathon meeting with the government over their ongoing agitation towards three new farm legal guidelines.
“Tomar Saheb requested us to have tea in the course of the break between the assembly, however, we in return prolonged him an invite to accompany us to our protest site the place we’re serving tea together with jalebi and pakodas in the langar. This led to laughter throughout,” Jamhuri Kisan Sabha’s Kulwant Singh Sandhu advised PTI.
He mentioned farmers’ union leaders wished to utilize the break time to debate the governments provide of forming a committee.
On the assembly, the government advised establishing a committee to look into points raised by farmers protesting towards new farm legal guidelines, however, it was rejected by representatives of 35 agitating organizations throughout their marathon assembly with three Union ministers that ended with none decision.
