According to the Indian Medical Association (IMA), 730 doctors died during the second wave of the Covid epidemic, with Bihar reporting the highest number of fatalities. Bihar had the most doctor deaths with 115, followed by Delhi with 109 and Uttar Pradesh with 79. Andhra Pradesh had 38, Telangana had 37, Karnataka had 9, Kerala had 24, and Odisha had 31. In Maharashtra, twenty-three doctors died.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India reported 62,224 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, with the daily positive rate dropping to 3.22 percent (MoFHW).
For nine days in a row, the daily positivity rate has remained below 5%. The number of active cases has dropped to 8,65,432. For the first time in 70 days, they have fallen below 9 lakh. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 95.80%, according to the Ministry of Health.
With the addition of the new cases, the total number of cases in the country has risen to 2,96,33,105. With 2,542 new deaths in the last 24 hours, the COVID-19 death toll has risen to 3,79,573.
