The central government has distributed 25,06,41,440 free COVID-19 vaccination doses to states and union territories thus far, according to the Union Health Ministry.
According to data available as of 8 a.m. today, the overall consumption, including wastages, of the total vaccine doses administered is 23,74,21,808 doses.
According to the Union Health Ministry, the states/Union Territories (UTs) still have 1,33,68,727 Covid vaccination doses available to be delivered. Furthermore, more than 3 lakh (3,81,750) vaccination doses are being shipped and will arrive in the States/UTs in the next three days.
The vaccine campaign’s third phase began on May 1 this year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that all Indian citizens above the age of 18 will receive free COVID-19 vaccines beginning June 21. He stated that the Centre will acquire 75% of the entire vaccine dose output and distribute them to the states for free. No state government would be willing to spend money on vaccines.
