The growing body of evidence on the Oxford Vaccine should serve as a reference for other countries: Andrew Pollard

Data on effectiveness should help inform decision-making in other countries, Andrew Pollard said.

Oxford Vaccine Group Director Andrew Pollard said on Tuesday that real-world evidence on the efficacy of Oxford and AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine in older people from its launch in the United Kingdom should help guide decision-making in other countries.

When asked whether other countries could analyze real-world evidence from Public Health England, Pollard replied, “I believe the research committees in each of these countries will be doing exactly that in the days ahead.”

The strength of evidence that we’re now seeing is being accessed by scientific committees in various countries, and I’m sure it will help them make decisions, he told BBC radio.
